Parts of the howitzer were found in the chests hidden in the van driven by 22-year-old Ukrainian. According to the spokesman of the Helm district prosecutor's office, the man knew what kind of cargo he carried. He even had a number of documents for that, but it still appeared not enough to bring the howitzer across the border.

The perpetrator was detained; Polish Internal Security Agency got interested in this case.

On January 1, four people tried crossing the Ukrainian-Polish border illegally.
