Before the Orthodox Christmas (celebrated on Jan.7), the law enforcers are to check places of worship and those of mass gathering in order to verify that no explosives were planted and there are means for putting out fires, as Deputy  Interior Minister Serhiy Yarovyi said, according to the ministry’s press service.

“For the Christmas holidays, the law enforcers will ensure public safety during the masses in the religious buildings. Explosive experts will check all places of mass gatherings for explosive objects and the presence of means for fire protection. We all know how the neighbouring Russia might be destabilizing the situation,” he said.

Yarovyi also emphasized the necessity of engaging as many employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as possible.
