Police reclassified the assault on the public activist Kateryna Handziuk, who also was an adviser to the mayor of Kherson, as a completed murder. This is reported by the press service of the National Police.
"Today, November 4, investigators have changed the qualification of the attack on a Kherson city council official, qualifying it as a completed crime," the statement said.
At the same time, it is specified that the crime against Handziuk is being investigated under paragraphs 4, 6, 11 and 12, Part 2, Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (ordered murder committed by a group of persons, for mercenary reasons, with particular cruelty).
Earlier it was reported that the police conducted an inspection of the body and the investigation into the death of Kateryna Handziuk. After the examination regarding the causes of death, they promised to give legal qualification.
‘Katya died. The details will be given later. Please, do not disturb her relatives. Friends will give more information within a day,' reads the message.
Lawyer Masi Nayyem and entrepreneur Vladyslav Hrezeiev have also confirmed the information.
‘Katya Handziuk died. Having had numerous operations after acid burns, thrombus detached. One hour ago,’ the entrepreneur claimed.
As it was reported earlier, four suspects in the attempted murder of Adviser of Kherson Mayor Kateryna Handziuk pleaded guilty.
