Before the New Year and Christmas holidays, law enforcement officers recalled the administrative and criminal liability that threatens the illegal felling of trees. The press service of the police of the Kyiv region reports.
For each illegally cut tree, the amount of losses incurred will be charged, which will depend on the diameter of the tree stump.
"So, according to Article 65 (Illegal cutting, damage and destruction of forest crops and young animals) of the Administrative Code of Administrative Offenses, a fine is imposed on citizens from thirty to sixty tax-free minimum incomes of citizens and on officials - from one hundred and fifty to three hundred tax-free minimum incomes of citizens," - the message says.
Criminal liability is provided if the damage caused is twenty or more times higher than the tax-free minimum income of citizens.
As we reported, Kyiv's Sofiyska square hosted the solemn opening of Ukraine's main Christmas tree.
