Police opens criminal proceeding due to hepatitis outbreak in Mykolaiv

The police opened a criminal proceeding due to the mass infection with the Hepatitis A in Mykolaiv, Southern Ukraine as the press service of the local police reported.

‘The information on the mass infection of the citizens with the Hepatitis A were fixed in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigation due to the article of infection with the human immunodeficiency virus or other incurable infection. It can bring the punishment from three to eight years of the imprisonment’, the police said.

The pretrial investigation takes place, a number of the expert studies is appointed.

As we reported 37 cases of hepatitis A were registered in Mykolaiv during the last few days. Oleksandr Ignatenko, the Chief of the Department of the Mykolaiv region laboratory center, announced that the reason for the outbreak was water from water reduction points, according to the number of conclusions. Four causes of disease were spotted.
