Officers of the National Police detained two Russian militants who were planning to commit serious crimes on the territory of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.

Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations in Kyiv received information that citizens of the Russian Federation, who were planning a number of serious crimes, had arrived in Ukraine’s capital.

According to available data, they were members of armed groups, worked for the Russian secret services, and took part in military conflicts in different countries. They were even presented with state awards for their activities.

As of now, all the materials for their forced expulsion from Ukraine are being prepared.

As we reported earlier, Office of Prosecutor General of Ukraine registered a criminal proceeding due to the participation of French mercenaries in Donbas conflict.

"Since 2014 till now, 20 citizens of the French Republic participated in armed conflict against Ukraine, as part of the irregular and illegal armed formations of the Russian Federation, on the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which led to human fatalities and other severe consequences," Ukrainian prosecutors claimed.
