Police detain man who “planted mine” at train stations

Recently, the man arrived in Odesa in searching for a job. He haven’t found one, “got upset” and reported a “planted mine”

The law enforcers have detained the man who said he allegedly “mined” two major objects in Odesa in two minutes. The press office of the National Police in Odesa region reported this. 

On Monday, December 24, the 102 service received two anonymous calls on the wiring of Pryvoz bus station and Odesa Railway Station, both from the same number. Both objects were carefully examined by specialists. No explosive devices or substances were found.

At the same time, the police started searching for the person who provided the false information. During the investigative actions, the personnel of Odesa Police and the SBU office in Odesa region detained the man suspected of having committed the abovementioned misdemeanor. The 25-year-old citizen pleaded guilty.

Information on these facts was added to the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. A decision is being made on the detention of the offender according to the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
