Police detain four suspected organizers of Novi Sanzhary protests

Zhovtnevy district court of Poltava sent four people to custody on Tuesday. They are the suspects in the organization of protests and brawls with the police in Novi Sanzhary settlement. Ukrainska Pravda reported that, referring to the commentary of Yuriy Sulayev, the Head of Communications Department of the National Police in the Poltava region.

"Five defendants involved in the mass riots in Novi Sanzhary were notified of suspicion, and four had the restriction measure selected (detention in custody for 60 days). As for the fifth citizen, the decision regarding the custody will be made after we find out his whereabouts," Sulayev said.

The officer also mentioned that the fifth citizen is now on the wanted list, and the searches are underway. All five are charged with taking part in mass riots.

As we reported earlier, 48 citizens of Ukraine and 29 foreigners were evacuated from the Chinese city of Wuhan. There were transferred to Novi Sanzhary, Poltava region, in order to be quarantined for 14 days.
