In Chernivtsi, a police car knocked a pedestrian to death. This was reported by the press service of the National Police in Chernivtsi region in Facebook.

It is reported that the incident occurred on Russka Street today, September 16. The report about the accident was received by the police around 2 a.m.

"Immediately the investigative-operative group of the regional administration of the National Police appreared on the site. On the scene of the accident it was established that a 25-year-old lieutenant was driving the car Mitsubishi Outlander car. On the time of the accident, the crew patrolled the Russka street. With a flashing blue light, the policeman knocked a 28-year-old resident of the Gertsaevsky district, who suddenly ran out onto the roadway," the law enforcers say.

The man died on the spot from the injuries he sustained.

Data on the incident were included in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Art. 286 - violation of traffic rules.
