The Polish oil and gas company PGNIG opened new gas reservoirs near Przemysl at the border with Ukraine as Polske Radio reported.
'The drilling near Uikovychy, northerly from Przemysl found out the gas reserves that can be extracted in the amount of 150 cubic meters per minute. It is new resources; however, the reservoirs in a short distance from there are exploited for 60 years', the message said.
It is supposed that the reservoirs will be enough for a few years to exploit. The gas is opened with the use of the innovative methods of the research and drilling. Petr Vozniak, the Head of the PGNIG reported on the plans to continue the search works.
Earlier we reported that the Ukrainian 'Naftogaz' intends to purchase 4-5 billion of cubic meters of gas from Russia and continue the import from the EU in 2018.
