The main contenders for the victory are the current head of state Andrzej Duda and the candidate from the opposition Civil Platform and the mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Tshaskovsky.
To win the election in the first round, the candidate must collect more than 50% of the vote. However, according to forecasts, no one will succeed, and Poland will have a second round. Dude predicted 41-43% of the vote, while Tshaskovsky - 28-30%.
Polling stations opened at 7 am and will be open until 21:00. After that, the results of the exit polls will be announced.
In connection with the Covid-19 pandemic, elections are held in a sanitary mode: you can only enter the policeman in a mask, sanitizers are installed at the entrance, and the number of people at the same time is limited.
