Poland changes employment rules for foreigners

The employer will make the application on the provision of the permission for the seasonal works if the foreigner is not in Poland

Marzanna Skoczek, the Director of District Department of Labor in Grojec, Poland claimed that the new rules on the employment for foreigners will come into force since January 2018 in Poland. Polske Radio reported this.

According to her, the declaration on the intention to place in a job a foreigner that is issued for the employer for free will be replaced with the paid permission for a work for the seasonal works, particularly the crop farming, gardening, tourist and gastronomic spheres.

'These permissions for the seasonal works will be of two kinds: two stages of the provision of the permission will concern the foreigners who are not in Poland and one stage for the foreigners who are in Poland and have the permission for the legal stay on other ground then the seasonal works', she said.

The employer will make the application on the provision of the permission for the seasonal works if the foreigner is not in Poland. The foreigner will be able to issue the visa to Poland on the basis of this permission. The foreigners with the biometric passports can enter Poland without a visa. The employer is obliged to register such worker at the Labor Department.

Earlier it was reported that 589 000 Ukrainian or 17.6% of the total amount got the residence permit in the EU countries in 2016.
