Pianoboy to play Queen songs in tribute concert in memory of AIDS victims

The performance and the web broadcast will take place on May 17, in memory of those who succumbed to AIDS

Dmytro Shurov, the lead singer and pianist of Pianoboy rock band will play songs by legendary British band Queen. The online concert will be dedicated to the memory of those who died of AIDS, and it is supposed to take place on May 17. 

The broadcast is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday. It will be available at the web page of "100% of Life" organization.

May, 17 is known as the World Commemoration Day of People Who Died of AIDS. 

The famous 1992 concert on Wembley Stadium in London took place in the memory of Freddie Mercury. The Queen front man succumbed t to AIDS in November 1991. Dozens of musicians and millions of viewers worldwide gathered to pay tribute to the late singer. Almost 30 years after that, the HIV-AIDS keeps on spreading.

"The main thing is, you can avoid dying from AIDS. There are available medications and services that allow people to live by 100%. Have an HIV test. Learn your status and live", reads the message.

Earlier, Queen released a new version of their hit, We Are The Champions. It is dedicated to medics who valiantly fight the pandemic of coronavirus. The music video features Kyiv's landscapes.
