Eurovision 2017’s main venue at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv opened its doors to reporters. Press service of the National Public Television of Ukraine reported that on Tuesday.
According to Ola Melzig, the technical production director of ESC Eurovision 2017, the main arena weighs 30 tons, and the stage is 350 square meters in area. The stage’s height reaches 14 meters, width – 70 meters, and depth – 28 meters. All of the light equipment, totally 1,900 items, has been installed.
Pyrotechnical equipment will be mounted in the coming days; installation of spectator stands is almost complete. The press centre, which is to start working in almost two weeks, will host up to 1,500 reporters and 500 accredited fans.
This year’s Eurovision will be taking place at the International Exhibition Centre in Kyiv; the semifinals are slated for May 9 and 11, and the final is to take place on May 13.
