Filipino specialists are about to perform clinical tests of Russian vaccine against Covid-19. According to the country's President Rodrigo Duterte, these are supposed to start in October this year.

Deutsche Welle quoted the politician who claimed he could "be the first they can experiment on." He is supposed to be inoculated in May 2021.

The president seems quite confident about the vaccine's effect. "When the vaccine arrives, I will inject it publicly. Experiment with me, that's fine. If it works on me, it will work on everyone," he said.

The Russian side, and personally President Vladimir Putin claimed that the vaccine "underwent all the necessary tests" in this country. However, scientists around the globe seem to be disturbed, seeing the high rate of development and presentation of the vaccine in Russia.

"Scientists are skeptical about Moscow's plans to mass produce Sputnik V in October, supply it to the Philippines or team up with local firms to manufacture it in the country", writes DW.
