"The evening before the New Year was no celebration, unfortunately, it passed very bitter for me. On the way home around 5 p.m., my wife and I nearly drove into the car with disabled parking lights on the road near the woods. I decided to get out of the car in order to draw people's attention, who were standing next to the minibus, that they endanger other drivers by actually blocking the road in the dark. Our request to at least turn parking lights on suddenly made one of the men really angry, and as it turned out, he was very drunk. He rushed to me with a bottle in his hand and threatened to kill us. I had a gun and fired a warning shot in the air. He didn’t stop and hit my head with a bottle. I had to shoot his leg as I was lying on the ground ... We bandaged his wound, immediately called an ambulance and the police," the deputy said.
Deputy also said that he is almost fine, and the attacked is coming around in the hospital.
It is noted that yesterday the police reported that on December 31, incident occurred in Vasylkiv district in Kyiv Oblast between local residents and one of the deputies, the deputy used a firearm defending himself. The police is investigating the case now.
Ukraine’s National Police confirmed that the minibus was blocking the road and didn’t have the parking lights on. The 38-year-old attacker is a resident of Vasylkiv district. The man has a criminal record, according to police.
