According to him, people who are exercising can get through the coronavirus easier. It is necessary to spend only 150 minutes per week on physical activity. Lyashko noted that such data is published in the recent British scientific sports medicine magazine.
“The proven fact is that the physical activity decreases risk to get through Covid-19 in severe form. Only 150 minutes of exercises per week can help to avoid unfavorable consequences after the coronavirus,” Lyashko said.
Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine also noted that physical exercises are highly important for people who have already overcome the virus.
To keep motivation for physical exercises is one of the key things to return to the usual rhythm of life after the coronavirus.
According to the Health Ministry, 60% of Ukrainians do not exercise in their free time, and such a tendency increases. It concerns adults and young people. According to Lyashko, people under the age of 60 are exercising less; however, these people stay in the risk group.
As we reported, 7,562 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in Ukraine in 24 hours. Particularly, 336 children and 216 medics got infected. The majority of the cases were registered in Kyiv (681), Kharkiv (665), Dnipropetrovsk (487), Cherkasy (449), and Donetsk (445) regions.
During the past day, 2,195 people were hospitalized; 3,675 patients were discharged; 287 lethal cases reported, and 15,958 people recovered. 79,452 tests were held (including PCR – 33,889, ELISA – 14,118); 31,445 rapid tests for antigen to SARS-CoV-2 studied.
