Filaret, the Patriarch of Ukraine's Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate filed a lawsuit against Yevstratiy Zorya, the archbishop of Chernihiv and Nizhyn who represents the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Zorya released this information on his Facebook page. He added a screenshot of the letter that he received from Shevchenkivsky district court in Kyiv.

"At the chancellery, they told me that a letter from Shevchenkivsky court came in. Patriarch Filaret (Denysenko) sues archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya), insisting on the "protection of honor and dignity", he wrote.

Zorya added that the men's monastery of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra of Ukraine's Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate and the Union of Orthodox Reporters (a local NGO) also sued him, but they lost these cases.

Previously, Zorya made a statement about Filaret's health worsened to the point that he began to lose his working capacity. The Patriarch claimed he was fine and called Zorya's words a slander.
