"We would like to inform you that His Holiness Patriarch of Kyiv and All Russia-Ukraine Filaret was diagnosed with Covid-19 during scheduled testing," the statement reads.
Filaret is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. The state of the Patriarch’s health is satisfactory.
As we reported earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that the large-scale vaccination against Covid-19 would take place not earlier than in mid-2021.
“A lot of people have been vaccinated and what we don’t know whether the vaccine works…at this stage we do not have the clear signal of whether or not it has the level of worthwhile efficacy and safety,” WHO Spokesperson Margaret Harris added.
According to her, any vaccine-candidate showed a ‘clear signal’ about at least 50% efficiency during the clinical trials.
As of now, Ukraine remains to be one of the leaders among the European countries in terms of daily Covid-19 incidence.
