The passengers of Diamond Princess cruise liner with negative test results for Covid-19 have started to abandon the vessel, which was quarantined off the Japanese coast as The Japan Times reported.

It became possible as the government of Japan convinced its citizens that all attempts to secure the country from the virus and its spread were assumed. Mostly elder passengers were allowed to abandon the liner the first.

Besides, a lot of people who have already left the vessel would be sent for 14-day quarantine but in their homeland. Thus, about 200 citizens of Australia will be sent home by a charter flight today. Other passengers of the cruise liner will leave it until Friday.

About 3,700 people from more than 50 countries were on board the Diamond Princess.

Earlier, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus claimed that the further development of the coronavirus epidemic cannot be forecasted.
