A road accident in northern Ukraine occurred on Friday morning, briefly after the tragedy in Mykolaiv region. A passenger bus ran into a van on the 127th kilometer of Kyiv-Chop highway, specifically in its section in Zhytomyr region. The crash killed ten people, and ten more sustained injuries, the local police reported.
The accident took place not far from Hlybochyntsi village. The bus was on its way to Zhytomyr when it ran into a DAF van with a semitrailer.
The police, rescue teams and medics arrived at the scene. The investigation into the details continues.
Earlier on Friday, a road accident claimed lives of five people not far from Kryve Ozero town in Mykolaiv region, southern Ukraine. Another twelve were taken to a hospital with various injuries. The press service of Mykolaiv region's police branch reported that on Facebook.
Volkswagen bus with Belarusian license plates, which was en route from Odesa to Gomel (Belarus), ran into a van, which was parked on the roadside, apparently experiencing a malfunction.
The driver and four passengers of the bus deceased instantly; another 12 passengers were hospitalized.
