It is reported that the approach to the bridge from the Embankment side was fenced with a tape.
It is likely that strong gusts of wind caused the fall of part of the bridge.
Mykolaiv is embraced with the North European cyclone. Gusts of heavy wind tumbled dozens of trees. Blocked roads, broken electric wires, and broken cars are the result of the rampant disaster.
The administration building on Cathedral Square also suffered, balconies were damaged, and a number of premises were in emergency conditions.
As we reported before, major blackouts are observed in seven regions of Ukraine, mostly in the western and the northwestern regions. The State Emergency Service reported that on February 24.
"251 settlements in seven regions (...) were cut off the electric grid due to the activation of the automatic protection system of power lines", the message reads. In the Lviv region, the number of such settlements made 70, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region - 69, and in the Ternopil region - 65. In Volyn, Chernivtsi, Zhytomyr, and Rivne regions, the numbers are smaller.
