Over 800 reports on side effects of Covid-19 vaccination registered in Ukraine

816 reports on side effects were registered in Ukraine since the beginning of the vaccination, as the State Expert Center of the Health Ministry reported.

“In comparison with the previous period of time, the percent of appearance of unfavorable events after immunization has decreased and it makes 0.28% (0.35% in the first report. Totally, from February 24 up to April 4, the Center received 816 cards-reports on unfavorable events,” the center says.

It is noted that the majority of them, 99.1%, are minor. 94.73% of cases show the predictable unfavorable events after immunization, in other words, they meet the information provided in the guidance notes for medical use.

Thus, in 66.8% of cases, systemic disturbance and disturbance at the injection place were reported: body temperature rise, fatigability, fever, flu-like state, and so on. In 11.8% of cases, the disturbance of locomotor apparatus was reported: myodynia, arthralgia. In 11.7% of cases, the reports concerned neuralgic disturbance: headache, sleepiness or insomnia, shakes and so on. 3.2% of cases reported disturbance of the gastrointestinal tract.

As we reported, Ukraine made a deal with Pfizer pharmaceutical company. It provides for supply of ten million doses of vaccine from Covid-19. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla negotiated about that in February.

Besides, USAID, the US Agency for international development intends to pass Ukraine special refrigerators for storage of Pfizer vaccine in extremely low temperatures.
