Over 5,000 reports on domestic violence registered in Kyiv

Since the beginning of the year, 5,385 reports on the domestic violence were registered in Kyiv as Kyiv City State Administration reported.

Trust line received 1,139 reports.

“During March, 1,864 appeals were spotted in Kyiv; 318 of them were received by Trust line. 21 people used rooms of crisis response: 10 women, 10 children and a man. Besides, it was the first man who used the crisis room since the moment of their opening. Since the beginning of the year, 59 people used it,” Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Maryna Khonda said.

During incomplete three months, 22 people stay in the city asylum for victims of domestic violence: 12 women and 10 children.

As we reported, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine produced an educational series on online tools that can be applied to combat domestic violence.

Besides, Iryna Levchuk became the first Ukrainian ever who won the case at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). Meanwhile, all courts in Ukraine, including the Supreme Court, she lost.
