As of October 3, more than 50% of hospital beds are occupied with Covid-19 coronavirus patients in Ukraine. Minister of Health Maxym Stepanov reported this at a briefing.
According to him, today 16,076 people are in hospitals with coronavirus.
"This figure is increasing every day ... This suggests that the number of people with the course of the disease in a severe or moderately severe form is increasing ... Our beds are occupied, today this number is 53.9% in Ukraine as a whole," Stepanov said.
He also added that in this regard, he signed an order on the introduction of five more hospitals in different regions to the list of those that accept patients with Covid-19.
Earlier it was reported that two anti-records regarding coronavirus were spotted in Ukraine at once. In particular, the number of new cases reached 4661, and the daily mortality rate on October 2 was 92 people.
As of October 3, 222,322 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Ukraine. Over the last 24 hours, 4,661 people have been diagnosed with the disease. This was reported on the website of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
A total of 4,353 people (+92) died as a result of complications caused by the disease, 98,737 (+2,146) patients managed to recover - repeated laboratory tests did not detect the virus in their bodies. The number of active cases is 119,232.
As it was reported earlier, the daily number of those infected with coronavirus in Ukraine will be growing considerably. In the next few months, it is expected at the rate of 7-9,000 cases every day. This was said by the head of the WHO in Ukraine Jarno Habicht.
