Veterans of Donbas conflict, volunteers and internaly displaced people sold over 4,000 books at Book Arsenal festival in Kyiv.
According to the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs, the unique area called The Veteran Tent became a true sensation and leader of the sales among other locations of the festival.
The daily number of visitors and customers made hundreds. Famous artists, officials, local residents and foreigners bought a lot of books; rarely did they leave the tent just with one book each.
Martin Brest, the creator and the manager of The Veteran Tent admitted he was amazed at the number of visitors and those willing to buy books.
'About 70 percent of visitors and customers are the people who never saw the war or have any ties with the military. But they still came, showed interest, asked questions and eventually boughty our literature. So, Ukrainians are interested in this topic, they like our books', he said.
This year, the most popular book festival in Kyiv took place from May 23 to 26. The central topic of this year's edition was joint existence based on values and agreements.
