Over 40 people arrested in Tehran on suspicion of involvement in recent attacks

Documents and weapons were confiscated from the detained people

Iranian government arrested 41 people in connection with a series of attacks in Tehran on June 7. This was reported by Reuters referring to the interior ministry of Iran.

"With the help of security forces and families of the suspects, 41 people linked to the attacks and to Daesh (Islamic State) have been arrested in different provinces. Lots of documents and weaponry have been seized as well," Interior Ministry announced.

As 112 International reported, two attacks took place in the Iranian capital on early June 7. During the first attack, four shooters carrying Kalashnikov assault rifles entered the building of the Parliament, killing at least five people and wounding another 25. Another incident involved several shooters and a suicide bomber who blew himself up near the holy shrine of Imam Khomeini; at least two were killed and ten more were wounded, the outlet says.   

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks.
