As of now, more than 30 million people have already been diagnosed with coronavirus infection worldwide, Worldometers reports.
Also, more than 945,000 people have died since the beginning of the epidemic. Most cases are observed in the United States. In total, 6.8 million people were infected with the virus (201,348 died).
In second place belongs to India. In this country, 5.1 million people were diagnosed with Covid-19, 83,230 died.
In Ukraine, 162,660 people have been diagnosed and 3,340 have died since the beginning of the epidemic.
As we reported earlier, German Minister of Health Jens Spahn and Research Minister Anja Karliczek stated that they expected a COVID-19 vaccine to be available for the population in 2021.
However, it was noted that a vaccine would not be available to most of the population until the middle of the following year.
"We want a safe and effective vaccine, not necessarily to be the first," Spahn said.
Karliczek, in her turn, added that safety had absolute priority on that point.
