Over 2,000 Ukrainian hospitals ready to accept people with coronavirus in case of outbreak

Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk stated about the readiness of over 2,000 hospitals to accept people infected with coronavirus in case, the virus enters the territory of the country, as Interfax-Ukraine reported.

“A plan is developed in each region, submitted to the proper hospitals; specials hospitals are defined with infection boxes – over 2,000 in Ukraine. So wherever the region is in danger, there are people who will respond to it immediately, place a person to the infection box and provide a person with necessary help. The system is ready to respond to such a situation,” Honcharuk assured.

He stated that there are enough medical units of infectious disease specialists, protection suits, masks, and respirators in the country. No deficit is observed. The PM is sure that if coronavirus is spotted in the territory of Ukraine, nothing serious will happen.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko stated that not a single case of infection with the new pneumonia coronavirus was recorded in Ukraine, including among citizens evacuated from Wuhan

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government introduced an extra safety measure in terms of the prevention of coronavirus spread. From now on, passengers from countries with a high risk of virus spread to get body temperature checked upon arrival in Ukraine.
