Approximately 136,000 law enforcement officers will be serving during the upcoming local elections in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of Ukraine’s Interior Ministry, citing the words of First Deputy Minister Serhiy Yarovyi.
"I see two main areas of work in ensuring the law and order during the election process. This is the preventive work and training of personnel. The main burden will fall on the National Police. Its main task is to identify administrative and criminal offenses and bring them to justice. In total, almost 136,000 law enforcement officers will be involved during the elections," the official stated.
According to him, all units will be involved, including aviation units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As we reported earlier, 92,000 citizens of Ukraine changed the electoral address to vote at the local elections.
“In our view, it is a small figure, unfortunately. Totally, in Ukraine, from 5.5 up to 6 million voters who need to change the electoral address. It is the internally displaced people, labor migrants. Totally, about a million people who do not have the registration at all,” the statement said.
