Oliver Stone, an American writer and an Oscar winning filmmaker will present his documentary about Ukraine at the 65th Taormina Film Festival, which is taking place in Sicily on June 30 - July 6. He wrote that on his Facebook page.
"On my way to Sicily for Taormina Festival, where I’m chairing the jury. Also showing for the first time our new documentary, “Revealing Ukraine,” directed by Igor Lopatyonok," Oliver Stone writes.
The documentary, directed by Igor Lopatyonok, an American Film director of Ukrainian origin, famous for colorizing old iconic Soviet movies, reveals the details of the 2014 uprising in Ukraine, discloses the connection between interference to the recent presidential elections in the U.S. and Ukraine, casts the light into the current situation with the conflict in Donbas.
The documentary shall be presented at Taormina Film Festival on July 4.
On June 30, the oldest European film festival kicks off in Sicily - the 65th Taormina Film Festival.
Taormina Film Fest is a European film festival, which annually takes place in the end of June in a Sicilian resort town on the hills of the Tauro Mountain.
It’s been 65 years as world celebrities come to the Eastern coast of the Italian island to present their movies at the historic festival. Among the past recipients of Actors Honors were Marlon Brando, Jack Nicholson, Al Pacino, Tom Cruise, Marcello Mastroianni, etc. Roman Polanski, Sydney Pollack, Martin Scorsese were awarded as film directors and producers.
The Festival is not as famous as the mainstream Cannes Festival or Biennale. But it is attractive due to master-classes by the maitres of the world cinematography, retrospectives of the great filmmakers, fashion events of the leading Italian designers, elite parties.
