Medical examination before the school year is mandatory only for first graders, as Deputy Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko stated during a briefing.
Lyashko noted that all other children are examined once a year.
"The child must undergo a medical examination once a year. He is tied, plus or minus two weeks, to his birthday. Responsibility for the passage rests with the parents, who can contact the family doctor and determine the time for the examination," the deputy minister said.
Lyashko also noted the importance of vaccination and urged parents to check the child's vaccination calendar.
As we reported before, the drop in Covid-19 mortality in Europe is tied with the spread of the new mutation of coronavirus, as Reuters reported, citing Paul Tambyah, senior consultant at the National University of Singapore and president-elect of the International Society of Infectious Diseases.
According to the infectious disease specialist, the D614G mutation of new coronavirus, which becomes more common in Europe and was recently detected in Malaysia, might be more contagious but less lethal. D614G mutation is also observed in Singapore.
