Japan reported six more cases of coronavirus infection among passengers and crew on the Diamond Princess liner, which is quarantined off the Japanese coast. It is reported by AP News.
 
The new cases are an American passenger in her 70s and five crew members — four Filipinos and a Ukrainian.

It is known that on board the Diamond Princess are about 3 700 people from more than 50 countries. The total number of infected on the liner at the moment is 70 people.

It was previously reported that quarantine was introduced on the vessel after a new coronavirus was discovered in an 80-year-old Chinese. The quarantine should last at least 14 days.

According to recent data, the death rate from the coronavirus epidemic in China amounted to 803 cases.

Chinese authorities have given a temporary name to the new coronavirus. South China Morning Post reports, citing a statement by the National Health Commission of China.

"A decision was made to assign a new disease a temporary name" pneumonia caused by a new type of coronavirus," the statement reads.

The name in English is Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia, abbreviated NCP.
