The share of films shot in Ukrainian in film distribution in a year decreased from 30.9% (159) to 11.8% (34 films). This is reported by the language ombudsman Taras Kremin, the press service of the language ombudsman reports on Facebook.

“Unfortunately, we see a tendency towards a significant decrease in the number of films that are released in the Ukrainian language, which, in my opinion, indicates the need to strengthen state support for Ukrainian cinema. We are talking about proper financing of Ukrainian cinema, and about ensuring transparent conditions for holding the competition, the provision of state funding for film projects. The latter must meet both quality criteria and national interests," said Kremin.
