Number of road accidents in Ukraine decrease by 63% during lockdown period

According to Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, the crime rate in Ukraine has also diminished by 30%

During the lockdown period, the number of road accidents has decreased by 63%. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the press service of the President's Office reports.

"The national police reported that during the quarantine period, the number of crimes had decreased significantly, the number of road accidents had diminished by 63%," the president said.

It is also worth noting that, according to Ukraine Internal Minister Arsen Avakov, the crime rate in Ukraine has also dropped by 30%.

However, the problem of society's disinformation remains relevant: the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has recently uncovered bot farm with 5,000 accounts, which spread fakes about COVID-19 on social networks and urged to unseat the constitutional order in Ukraine.

As we reported earlier, Law enforcement bodies opened the criminal proceeding due to the fire at Chornobyl exclusion zone.

“In the exclusion zone, in about 70 km from Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant, the ignition of the dead grass and shrubs occurred. To curb the fire and liquidate the haze, the aviation and special equipment are involved. The detachments of the State Emergency Service work at the site,” the message said.
