The number of people that cross the border through Kyiv Airport increased by one third due to a visa-free travel, the acting Head of Kyiv City Customs Service Serhiy Tupalski reported.

About 330 000 citizens crossed the border to leave the country through the airport and 360 000 people crossed the border to enter since June 11, 2017.

'The number has increased by one third compare with the previous year. 2 000 people per day are leaving the country', he wrote on Facebook.

According to him, 90% of people travel to the EU countries. The most popular European destinations are Budapest, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Hamburg, Nurnberg, Poznan, and Rome.

'We understand that it is only the beginning as significant part of Ukrainians have not yet received their biometric passports. The number of the population that can freely visit the EU countries will increase in near future'.
