In Ukraine, the number of people infected with Delta Covid-19 strain is likely to increase next week. The number of patients suspected of being infected with the Indian variant of coronavirus has increased. It was stated by the chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine Ihor Kuzin on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.
"Most likely, next week we will receive the final confirmation of new samples, there are already suspicions of Delta. Therefore, most likely, the numbers of those infected with this strain will be updated," he said.
As of June 23, only two cases of the newest Delta coronavirus strain were detected in Ukraine.
According to the chief sanitary doctor, these two cases are not related.
Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian doctors confirmed 290 new cases of Covid-19, including 23 children and 7 healthcare workers.
374 people have been taken to hospitals during this period; 5 patients deceased, and 374 recovered. 25,356 tests have been taken.
Most of the confirmed cases have been observed in Kyiv city (91), Dnipropetrovsk (35), Kyiv (24), Odesa (22), and Kharkiv (18) regions.
