The number of people infected with a new type of coronavirus in the world as of Sunday, July 26, exceeded 16 million, according to data from the American Johns Hopkins University.

According to the institution, as of this morning, 16 million 48,100 people infected with Covid-19 have been recorded in the world, of which 644,537 people suffered from the disease.

The  US is still first, where 4,178,027 people fell ill with coronavirus. The second position belongs to Brazil with 2,394,513 recorded cases.

India closes the top three in terms of the number of infected - there Covid-19 was confirmed in 1,385,635 people.
