The number of Ukrainians suffering from acute respiratory viral infections has increased by more than 20,000 people compared to the previous month, the website of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine informs.

Over the past week, as of December 8, 173,000 people lapsed into Acute Respiratory Viral Infection (ARVI), 69.3% of whom were children.

The incidence rate was 453.4 per 100 thousand of population, which is 4.9% less than the epidemic threshold in Ukraine.

24 cases of influenza-like illness and 19 cases of severe acute respiratory viral infection among patients were reported.

As we reported earlier, 41 cases of infectious hepatitis are being observed in the same school in Chernihiv, northern Ukraine. The illness struck dozens of school students and adults at school No.7. Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported that on Wednesday morning.

As of December 10, 30 children and 11 adults felt sick. 39 of the 41 affected by the hepatitis were taken to the hospital.

"The sick ones were diagnosed with "viral hepatitis of a moderate degree", which was confirmed by the lab tests. 35 patients had their diagnosis confirmed by immunological test results.
