The growth of new cases of coronavirus infection up to 2,000 and growth of deaths up to 40-50 per day is possible in Ukraine. The issue was discussed during the traditional selective meeting chaired by President Zelensky, as the President’s Office reported.
“If more than 2,000 cases of coronavirus infection are observed daily in Ukraine, then the coronavirus death toll would increase to 40-50 per day,” the message said.
Moreover, it was noted that the German medical association Marburger Bund reported about the beginning of the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic. Besides, the second wave is expected in Poland, France, and the Netherlands.
In his turn, Volodymyr Zelensky underlined that it is necessary to clearly explain the rules and peculiarities of quarantine to Ukrainians. “We need to explain to people why one city is in the red zone, while others are in the green zone," the president stated.
As of August 10, 81,957 cases of infection with coronavirus are observed in Ukraine. During the past 24 hours, 1,008 people were diagnosed with Covid-19.
On August 1, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers' decree No. 641 "On the introduction of quarantine and enhanced anti-epidemic measures" came into force in Ukraine. The document extends the adaptive quarantine until August 31, 2020. The government specified that, depending on the epidemiological situation, according to the level of the epidemic danger of the spread of Covid-19, all regions are divided into several zones: green, yellow, orange, and red.
