In Italy, the death toll from coronavirus infection SARS-CoV-2 and the resulting COVID-19 disease has increased by 175 cases over the past 24 hours. This is reported by DW.

This is less than the previous day, when the number of victims was 250 people. At the same time, the number of new cases of infection recorded increased: 3497 in the last day compared to 2547 the day before.

Thus, the total number of deaths from the new coronavirus has increased in the country to 1441.

The Italian healthcare system is on the verge of collapse due to the large number of infected people who need immediate medical attention. Italy ranks second in the world in the number of coronavirus infected after China. Tough measures are being taken in the country in the fight against infection: residents are being urged not to leave home, schools and universities are closed, theaters, cinemas and museums do not work, mass events are prohibited. Also all shops, except food and drugstores are closed.

The Minister of Health of Ukraine Ilya Yemets proposes to limit the work of public catering establishments to combat coronavirus. The press service of the Ministry of Health in Telegram reports this information.

“The experience of foreign countries shows that the closure of public catering establishments is an effective measure in the fight against coronavirus. I believe that we need to be proactive, clearly and decisively,” – Yemets said

As we reported before, as of the morning of March 15, only three cases of Covid-19 infection were recorded in Ukraine, another 12 reports of suspected infection are under investigation. The press service of the Ministry of Health report

"As of the morning of March 15, three laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19 were registered in Ukraine: in the Chernivtsi region - two cases and in the Zhytomyr region - one (lethal). In total, from the beginning of 2020, 79 reports of suspected Covid- 19 (3 ​​cases confirmed by laboratory, 64 - negative, no coronavirus, 12 - investigated)," - the report said.
