The Ukrainians have begun to use the planes more oftenб and the growth during nine months of 2018 in comparison with January-September 2017 made 15,5%. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman claimed this as the website of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
According to Groysman, the third of the air transportations is the transit passenger who chooses Kyiv as the place for the change. It is a good sign for the “hub” strategy.
Until the end of the year, the absolute rate of the passenger traffic is expected at the level of about 20 million passengers.
"It is a serious step forward; we became the serious player at the air transportations market and we need to strengthen this, open the world to the Ukrainians and make it available. It is a task that I have set," Groysman added.
According to the Prime Minister, in this context, it is important to strengthen the roles of the capital airport “Boryspil” as the regional hub and work out the possibilities of the development of the regional airports along with the international partners.
“Also, the development of the regional airports is important. Odesa, Lviv, Kharkiv, Kherson – the passenger traffic also grows there. We need to make a global program of their development. I will offer the particular development projects to the international partners. The state, international establishments, and municipalities, along we will be able to create development projects and give a new service quality. The Ukrainians will feel it,” he said.

Ukrainian SkyUP Air Company was launched in May 2018 as Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan reported. Its fleet composed of three Boeing planes 737-800 NG 2001, 2002 and 2011 with 189 seats.
