Non-medical facilities to be involved for treatment of Covid-19 patients in Kyiv, Odesa, Donetsk region

The government works on deployment of beds in case of the urgent situation with the number of Covid-19 patients in non-medical establishments of Kyiv, Odesa, Donetsk region and other facilities as the Office of the President of Ukraine reported.

“The government works on the deployment of the beds in non-medical establishments in Kyiv, Odesa, Donetsk region,” the message said.

It is noted that the stocktaking is held of beds of the facilities of the National Academy of Medical Sciences and Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) hospitals. The Health Ministry considers these beds for use in urgent situations.

Moreover, according to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, this month, the National Health Service of Ukraine contracted extra 23 hospitals.

Earlier, we reported that Kyiv, Odesa, and Mariupol are preparing to deploy additional large hospitals for patients with Covid-19 in case of an overload of hospitals in the first and second waves of the coronavirus epidemic.

As we reported, over 300,000 Covid-19 cases were observed in Ukraine. 4,766 new cases were registered over the last 24 hours. 5,673 people deceased in Ukraine, since the pandemic reached the country. 126,489 people recovered, as repeated lab tests did not reveal the virus in their bodies.
