As of now, there is no information about Ukrainian citizens who were injured or killed in the explosion in Beirut, Lebanon. This was reported by the press service of the Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers, citing Prime Minister Denys Shmygal.
"A terrible tragedy in Beirut. My condolences to all those who suffered and lost relatives and friends. Now, according to Ukraine's embassy in Lebanon, there is no information about injured Ukrainians. We are closely monitoring the situation," the prime minister's press service said.
These data were also confirmed by the head of the crisis management department of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maksym Kovalenko on the air of Ukraine 24 TV channel, Ukrainian News reports.
"Currently, (as of 09:00 on Wednesday - ed.) there is no information about Ukrainian citizens injured or killed in Beirut," the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
As we reported earlier, the explosion thundered in Beirut on August 4.
It emitted an enormous shockwave which destroyed much of the city's civilian and governmental infrastructure and reached Cyprus.
