None of Ukrainian citizens suffered in the deadly attack that occurred in the New York City; the press service of Ukraine’s Embassy in the U.S. reported this on Wednesday morning.

‘Ukraine’s Embassy and the Consulate General in New York stay in touch with the city’s law enforcement agencies,’ reads the message.

29-year-old Sayfullo Saipov of Uzbek origin used a rented truck to hit the crowd near the World Trade Centre on Tuesday. As he ran over a group of bicyclists and crashed into another vehicle, he got out of the car and started shooting, using an air-rdriven rifle and a paintball gun. Saipov got himself shot by the police and taken to a hospital where he successfully passed the surgery.

The attack claimed lives of eight people; six died on the scene, two passed away later at a hospital.

CNN referrs to Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which tweeted that five of the eight deceased were citizens of Argentina. Another victim appeared to be the Belgian citizen.
