Participants of the "No to capitulation!" protest in Kyiv lighted fires and threw smoke bombs during a procession along Khreschatyk Street to Independence Square. This was reported by 112 Ukraine correspondent.

According to the journalist, law enforcement officers control the situation. During the march, provocative actions have not been reported.

Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed that in the city center more than 1.5 thousand policemen are guarding the law and order, of which 800 are patrol officers, officers of the National Police and members of the National Guard.

Earlier, the solemn march to the Day of Defender of Ukraine began in Mykolayiv. More than 100 people take part in the event.

The atmosphere in the city is positive, the residents are in a good mood.

"There is also an exhibition of fire and military equipment, all people go around, look at everything. But the holiday will not end with this. After the march, already at 13:00, the first city-wide quest will begin. It is organized by anti-terrorist operation and IDP participants for children and youth," the correspondent noted.

Earlier it was reported that 300 events dedicated to the defenders of independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity are planned throughout Ukraine.
