Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Anton Turupalov said that passengers, arriving from Italy, did not show any signs of coronavirus disease. He stated this during a briefing that was broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
"Now all people who are arriving on a direct flight from Italy are subject to mandatory screening. To my knowledge, no person has been identified (with signs of illness – 112 International.)," Turupalov noted.
Meanwhile, the head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Serhiy Daineko organized reinforced security measures at the Tisa customs office.
From February 25, temperature screening of people traveling to Ukraine started at the Tisa customs office at the border with Hungary. Border guards are provided with the temperature measuring instruments and individual protection equipment.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine's Ambassador to Italy Yevhen Perelyhin provided information on the number of coronavirus cases in Italy.
"As of 18:00, February 24, there were 229 infected people in Italy, 172 of them were in the Lombardy region, 32 in Veneto and the rest in Emilia-Romagna, Piedmont and Lazio. All 229 of them were non-Ukrainian citizens. Citizens of Ukraine did not contact embassies or consulates general," the ambassador said.
