 President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in connection with the declaration by the World Health Organization of a state of emergency due to the global outbreak of a new coronavirus, has set a number of tasks for the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.  The press service of the President’s Office reports this information.

 The head of state emphasized that the situation with the spread of the virus is quite controlled and is constantly in the field of his attention. Now in Ukraine, not a single case of infection has been registered and there are no grounds for any emergency measures.

 All the necessary resources are involved; the government owns all the information in full.  The spread of the new coronavirus abroad is constantly monitored, and preventive measures are being taken inside the country.

Volodymyr Zelensky also noted the need for disease prevention measures.

As we reported before, Ukraine is not ready enough for possible epidemics and pandemics, so it may have some problems with developing a plan of defense against possible coronavirus attack. According to the Global Health Security Index rating, Ukraine's readiness to fight epidemics was defined as "below average" (38 points out of 100).
