The growth and the general high incidence of Covid-19 in Lviv and Lviv region will remain for now. Volodymyr Zub, the head of Healthcare Department of Lviv city hall said so as quoted by press office of the authority.
"We've been witnessing the growth over the last 10-14 days. It must be due to the fact that the quarantine is weakening, people communicate more, they get outside more often (...) thus, the infection spreads. I believe that after a long-lasting plateau, which we witnessed in May, we are on the surge of the illness. I think there will be no decline in the incidence in the near future... and it will depend on us how fast would be the growth. It's hard to forecast how the events will go", he said.
As of early June 19, the number of those infected with Covid-19 in Lviv is 1,450 people. The number of the sick people in the region currently makes 3,540. Lviv region currently comes third in this regard (after Chernivtsi region and Kyiv). Over the last two weeks, there has been an increase of number of infected people in Kviv and the namesake region.
