Molecular-genetic studies did not detect COVID-19 coronavirus infection among 89 Ukrainians who are under observation in Novi Sanzhary. It was reported by the press service of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council.

"None of the 89 evacuees, who are being monitored in the village of Novi Sanzhary, Poltava region, are currently infected with the COVID-2019 coronavirus," Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said.

According to him, molecular genetic studies of biological material, taken from the evacuees, have not yet identified the virus.

As we reported earlier, the first case of coronavirus infection was recorded among Ukrainians in Italy, Interfax informed with reference to the Italian media.

"The first case of a coronavirus in Campania …. The girl who had been feeling not well for several days went to the hospital of San Luca di Vallo Della Lucania yesterday where she was tested for the Covid-19 virus. It tested positive in Cotugno Hospital, Naples: The presence of the Coronavirus has to be confirmed by the Spallanzani Institute of Rome. All those who came in contact with the girl, especially the family who accompanied her to the hospital, were quarantined," the message reads.
